8x8, Inc. offers an exciting and rewarding career opportunity for a highly talented, motivated and energetic person to work in our Accounting department as a Senior Revenue Manager. 
The Senior Revenue Manager will be a key member of the Revenue team and will report directly to the Revenue Controller.  This opportunity will allow you to be a key contributor to an exciting, fast-paced, high growth SaaS organization and to help drive revenue transformation through process improvement and automation efforts related to revenue accounting.  This person will also manage a team and be responsible for all aspects of revenue and technical accounting research.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and own the complete global revenue close, and quarterly/annual financial disclosures.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of revenue.
  • Review customer contracts to provide revenue recognition guidance and prepare technical accounting memos to determine proper accounting treatment in accordance with our existing revenue policy and U.S. GAAP.
  • Perform regular analyses and reporting related to revenue recognition, including SSP analyses, gross versus net assessments, multiple element arrangements, etc.
  •  Manage and update revenue recognition policies to maintain reporting accuracy and scale with business strategies.
  • Drive process improvement and automation efforts to streamline operations related to revenue accounting, improving the quality of monthly close and reporting cycles.
  • Partner closely with Revenue Operations team through non-routine transactions, monthly close activities, and to identify and implement process and system improvements within the quote-to-cash ecosystem.
  • Strengthen internal controls and enhance processes around revenue and related processes to accelerate close activities while maintaining accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.  
  • Collaborate with SOX & Internal Audit and external auditors around key control documentation and evidence compliance requirements, and changes in internal control design as processes evolve.
  • Serve as the key contact with external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audits, including discussing technical revenue accounting assessment and internal control findings.
  • Partner with Service Operations and FP&A teams to improve precision around revenue forecasting and metrics analyses, and development of revenue recognition policies.
  • Support ad hoc projects, including systems implementation and revenue process improvements related to revenue transformation.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 7 years and a Master’s degree;; or equivalent experience; with a combination of Big 4 accounting and industry/corporate accounting
  • CPA is required
  • Strong software and SaaS revenue recognition knowledge in the areas of ASC 606, and related revenue recognition pronouncements under US GAAP
  • Experience at multi-national public company preferred
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, work independently, prioritize competing workloads, and manage the deliverables from business partners and team members
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Capability to handle multiple projects and stakeholders, and drive effective change management
  • Experience with revenue process transformations
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Experience working with Salesforce and NetSuite preferred SOX Compliance experience is a must
  • Strong Microsoft Office and G-Suite skills
  • Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills, and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment across different geographies
