Who you are:
We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Sr Marketing Manager, Public Sector who will contribute to success by supporting and overseeing business critical initiatives including public sector marketing strategy development, campaign and programs aligned with revenue goals, buyer-based content, program management, channel enablement, and marketing ROI analysis for all public sector sub-segments and verticals, across the entire lifecycle. 

What you’ll do:
Working closely with Business Development and peers across marketing functions, you will play an important role in shaping and driving the annual marketing plan for the portfolio of the Public Sector business through understanding market drivers and opportunities, positioning Geotab for its unique value proposition, and identifying value-added selling propositions through the interconnectedness of Marketplace and partner solutions. You will also be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive growth in existing and adjacent markets and allocating budget and team resources accordingly.
To be successful in this role you will be customer-focused with strong organizational agility and the ability to apply measurement frameworks to demonstrate marketing investment impact on profit and revenue growth. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to lead and manage a diverse and cross-functional team of marketing professionals to deliver on strategy and drive revenue results.  The successful candidate will also have a sophisticated understanding of the government procurement process, and the ability to synthesize and prioritize complex legislative and/or regulatory issues in order to successfully advance Geotab business interests in ever changing political and public arenas.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Drive overall marketing strategy and program execution to achieve Public Sector revenue targets and actively support customer projects. Continuously follow industry trends, understands market drivers to identify opportunities and threats and convert these into insights, strategy, and actions.
  • Coordinate and align activities with Business Development, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, and Channel Marketing functions to define new business opportunities or expansion projects, including vertical marketing strategy and competition monitoring within assigned Public Sector vertical markets.
  • Guide and influence through partnership with commercial teams and channel marketing to align Public Sector market position and go-to-market approaches across FMC, OEM, Carrier and VAR channels in North America.
  • Serve as Marketing thought leader, subject matter expert, and lead advocate on federal and state legislative, regulatory, and other policy matters in the public sector.
  • Lead efforts among industry associations and events to advance Geotab’s Public Sector priorities.
  • Bring customer centricity to all Public Sector commercial activities by focusing on Public Sector VOC and understanding customer pain points, and creating a feedback loop with the broader marketing team to share this information on an ongoing basis.
  • Utilize business planning tools (e.g. Salesforce) to forecast and manage quarterly budgets and performance. 
  • Collaborate with agencies and other internal departments to develop messaging briefs, creative briefs and execute marketing campaigns.

What you’ll bring to this role:

  • Minimum 10 years marketing experience in identifying target audiences to deliver business growth, including 5 years in a public sector role. Preference will be given to candidates with prior acquisition experience at the federal level.
  • An ability to advise the broader marketing organization and Channel Marketing Team, in particular, on the complex state and local government marketplace.
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.
  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
