We believe aircraft should fly themselves. Automated aviation systems will enable a future where air transportation is safer, more convenient and fundamentally transformative to the way goods — and eventually people — move around the planet. We are a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aerospace, robotics and self-driving cars working to make this future a reality.
As a Senior Flight Software Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will bring leadership and hands-on software skills to automate the operation of highly complex aircraft systems. Our Flight Software teams are deeply involved in all aspects of the development and certification of the Reliable Robotics autonomy stack, and play a central role in bringing our aircraft to life.

You'll define software architecture and high-level requirements to set direction for project teams. You'll create processes to increase software quality and safety. When projects reach critical decision points, you'll evaluate technical and scope trade-offs to choose the best path forward. You'll mentor other engineers to help them grow in all aspects of their jobs.

  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Criteria

  • Significant industry experience developing software in C or C++
  • Experience working in a DO-178 environment or similar
  • Experience developing products from concept to launch
  • Exposure to control theory, linear algebra, optimization algorithms, aircraft dynamics, or similar
  • Experience in hardware / software integration
