Software Engineer, Mapping

System1 is looking for a Node Engineer to work on the data pipeline on one of the largest mapping apps in the world, MapQuest. You will design, build, operate, debug, optimize, and deploy highly-distributed and low-latency web-based systems as part of a growing team of talented engineers. The Role You Will Have

• Writing clean, functional and scalable code
• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
• Implementation of security and data protection
• Design and implement algorithms to efficiently process and merge large datasets to serve on Mapquest
• Collaboratively develop a roadmap for adding new features and capabilities

What You Will Bring

• 5+ years experience in developing and maintaining all server-side network components
• Able to deliver high quality features on new and existing applications using Node.js
• Experience with SQL and Postgres Database
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud environment (e.g. Azure, GCP).Able to maintain and refactor existing codebases to best practices and new technologies
• Familiarity with agile development practices
• Experience working with Git version control in a collaborative team environment, creating pull requests and performing code reviews
• Excellent communication and time management skills
