Your Impact:
As the VP of Finance, you will own and elevate financial and operational excellence at GatherUp and Grade.us. This role is responsible for building out and refining financial processes, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support the business’s strategic goals. Your expertise will ensure best-in-class financial operations, supporting GatherUp in delivering on its mission. You’ll partner directly with the CEO and collaborate closely with the leadership team to influence decision-making with meaningful financial insights and work with leadership to enhance employee satisfaction and engagement.
What Success Looks Like:
- Best-in-Class Financial Operations: Lead, manage, and continuously improve financial and accounting operations, ensuring high accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
- Creating Business Growth Through Strategic Analysis and Initiatives: Drive strategic initiatives that support GatherUp’s business growth, including strategic financial analyses that guide resource allocation and operational decisions.
- Enhanced Employee Satisfaction and Engagement: Partner with leadership to foster an environment that prioritizes employee satisfaction and engagement.
What You’ll Do:
- Establish and lead financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting, to ensure sound fiscal management and alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
- Partner directly with the CEO and collaborate closely with the leadership team to set and refine financial and business strategies, leveraging insights to uncover growth opportunities and optimize resource allocation.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize reporting and dashboards to provide the executive team and board with a clear understanding of the business’s performance and key SaaS metrics.
- Oversee the monthly close process, delivering timely and accurate financial reports, and manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance, and audits.
- Serve as a strategic partner in company-wide initiatives, implementing financial processes and models that drive scalability and data integrity.
- Own standard HR activities including payroll and benefits programs, ensuring market-aligned compensation and maintaining accurate and timely payroll processes.
- Work with leadership on employee engagement initiatives, creating a positive work environment that fosters career development, satisfaction, and productivity.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally within a SaaS company, with expertise in financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and SaaS metrics.
- Proven track record of successfully owning finance and accounting functions, including monthly financial closes and implementing internal accounting controls.
- Experience managing HR processes, including payroll, benefits, and employee relations, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders effectively and influence strategic decision-making.
- Expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and key SaaS KPIs, including LTV/CAC, Net Revenue Retention, and sales efficiency metrics.

Location:
We are a fully remote company. You can be anywhere in the US, provided that your availability includes our core business hours of 9 am to 2 pm PT.
Compensation:
$170,000 - $190,000 base salary + annual bonus
