Remote U.S. Role
OVERVIEW
The Implementation Consultant's (IC) role is to provide software implementation and workflow consulting services to Altera’s Paragon clients for contracted projects. The IC follows a structured workplan that reflects Altera’s methodology through all phases of the implementation life cycle to ensure the successful implementation of Altera’s products and solutions. In this role, the primary Paragon application focus is Paragon Pharmacy. Supported Paragon Applications will also include Medication Administration, EPCS/Dr First, Clinician Hub, Clinical CareStation, Order Management, Emergency Department Management, Application Security, and WebStation for Security. This is a remote role, with travel required within the U.S.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply detailed knowledge of Altera’s Paragon products and solutions, specifically within the Pharmacy domain, to implement Altera’s Paragon software at client sites.
- Perform all project workplan tasks for the assigned role in accordance with contracted project scope.
- Perform system configuration tasks and provides system configuration consultation to clients, with a focus on Pharmacy workflows and best practices.
- Provide workflow consultation and guidance, aligned with Altera’s recommendations, to clients, specifically regarding Pharmacy operations and integration with related hospital systems (Orders, CPOE, Nursing, Meds Admin).
- Identify and resolves, and/or appropriately escalates, system and workflow issues that arise throughout an implementation project.
- Provide training to client Pharmacy staff and IT personnel on the use of the Paragon Pharmacy application and related modules. This includes training the trainers at client sites.
- Manage software upgrades and provides training to clients on new functionality.
- Meet or exceed utilization targets set by the organization.
- Set appropriate expectations with clients and manages them throughout the project life cycle.
- Execute all tasks related to a contracted project role, within the Pharmacy domain, independently.
- Provide feedback to appropriate internal organizational groups on software and methodology improvements.
- Facilitate the process of defining expectations by asking key questions that help clients discover their needs.
- Build trust by communicating effectively with clients about issues and concerns; develop and present recommendations that address key client objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work-related years of experience.
- Pharmacy Technician certification or experience is highly desirable.
Work Experience
- 4-7 years relevant work experience related to pharmacy workflow in a hospital setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of electronic prescribing and related workflows.
- Experience implementing and supporting healthcare IT applications, ideally within a hospital environment.
- Experience training end-users on software applications.
- Strong understanding of hospital pharmacy operations, including inventory management and general workflow.
- Ability to communicate effectively with end-users, IT staff, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge / experience with our Paragon solution a plus.
TRAVEL
- Up to 50% travel is required, primarily within the U.S. Travel will typically involve Monday-Friday trips, with occasional weekend or after-hours work for upgrades and implementations. Peak project work can involve travel up to 80% for defined periods.
WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
- Standard work week, with flexibility required for implementations, upgrades, and client needs.
- Primarily works remotely or at client sites.
- May require after-hours, on-call support, and/or work on holidays.
