Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Director, Residential National Accounts to focus on Dual-trade, HVAC and Residential Plumbing National Accounts.

This role is approved to be either Remote within the United States or Hybrid for associates in Newport News, VA, in accordance with company policy. 

Position Summary:

The Director of Residential National Accounts will be responsible for acquiring and developing Ferguson's national customer base, with an emphasis on increasing sales to key large national accounts in the Dual-trade and RMI strategic growth areas in both HVAC and Residential Plumbing sectors.

In addition to driving sales, the role will focus on promoting the customer groups' product strategy, including Own Brand products and programs.

The director will also ensure effective sales management practices and develop a long-term plan to meet the customer's needs and the company's sales, profitability, and productivity goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with key vendors which meet branch and corporate objectives.
  • Customer retention through monthly/quarterly financial reviews, project management and execution of the program strategy.
  • Determine opportunity by customer and develop a plan to grow share accordingly.
  • Organize and participate in trade shows and other customer activities.
  • Develop and analyze market information.
  • Work with team to build customer programs and provide direction to field sales, marketing and operations support functions.
  • Provide frequent communication to Blended Field Sales and Directors on program requirements, advancements and opportunities.
  • Identify new product/business opportunities based on customer need.
  • Integrate and prioritize corporate programs and initiatives.
  • Identify sales of existing products by customers and improve the sales.
  • Ensure quotes, submittals and RFP’s are accurate and timely.
  • Work with National Account Operations, credit, purchasing and branch associates to ensure our sales efforts are organized for improving customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Communicate program advancements to internal teams to ensure workload is handled appropriately.
  • Communicate with internal teams on product needs and potential product shortages.
  • Ensure that quotations, orders and requests for credit are being entered promptly, thoroughly and accurately.
  • Work with supervisor in developing and maintaining a strong price matrix for regional account customers.
  • Maintain price agreements through National Accounts price contract.
  • Identify and market new products and services.
  • Provide information to customers about new products, services and promotional offerings.
  • Maintain relationships with key decision makers / influencers for all accounts.
  • Routine follow-up, using both inside support and field sales, will be essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 30% of the time.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, equivalent Sales Management experience and/or extensive experience in the Residential industry.
  • Proven track record of attaining maximum sales results through successful interaction with established customers and new prospects.

Pay Range:

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$9,409.50 - $17,467.50

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
