Director, Commercial Learning and Development (Remote)

Using your experience managing people and results within the travel industry, preferably for a TMC, and with a thorough first-hand knowledge of travel agency operations, the Director, Commercial Learning and Development will not only be instrumental in building a department from the ground up but also have the unique opportunity to shape its future as it continues to evolve. This role is pivotal in driving our collective performance goals, and we are seeking a visionary leader who can create and implement the roadmap to guide us there.
As the Director, Commercial Learning and Development, you will not work in isolation. Through your efforts and in close collaboration with key business partners, including People and Culture leaders, you will strategically deliver innovative, interactive, and engaging learning experiences. This collaborative approach ensures that our business has the tools, knowledge, and skills to meet our people's and valued clients' changing needs.
After initial training, the director will continue to mentor and guide team members to ensure the trainees can implement, maintain, and improve on results using their learned body of knowledge.
As a Director, Commercial Learning and Development, you will
- Develop and execute a strategic learning and development roadmap aligned with the company's commercial objectives, focusing on new hire development and enhancing proficiency in travel technology and services, revenue growth, and strategic client relationships.
- Build a corporate learning and development organization and lead a team of professionals responsible for designing and delivering training programs to support the development of commercial skills and competencies across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with commercial leadership, product management, and technology teams to identify learning needs, prioritize initiatives, and ensure alignment with business priorities and objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in corporate travel, NDC, and travel technology, and incorporate relevant updates into learning content and curriculum.
- Drive the adoption and integration of new learning tools, platforms, and technologies to enhance learning delivery and engagement, leveraging innovative approaches such as e-learning, gamification, and virtual classrooms.
