We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team in Collins Aerospace. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure using latest technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support and contribute to the evolution of our data platform and capabilities.
** This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote. **
What YOU will do:
You will design, build, and optimize data pipelines for ingesting data from various sources (e.g. databases, APIs, streaming platforms)
You will deploy and manage data solutions on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Databricks)
You will develop real-time data processing solutions working with sensor data, telemetry streams, and IoT devices (e.g. Apache Kafka, Amazon Kinesis, Azure Event Hubs).
You will support data ingestion, text extraction, chunking, and vector embedding (e.g. OpenSearch, PGVector) related activities working closely with AI/ML Engineers.
You develop n Python and SQL while also using various IDEs (e.g. PyCharm, Jupyter Like Notebooks, Visual Studio Code) for coding, debugging, and testing applications and scripts.

Education & Experience:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications you must have:
Must be a US Citizen or a US Green card holder.
5+ years of experience in data engineering role, with proficiency in designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes.
Experience working with large-scale datasets, complex data architectures, and unstructured data.
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
Strong programming skills in Python and experience with relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy, Haystack, LangChain)
