Job Purpose and Impact

The Contractor Safety Senior Specialist will assist in the execution of strong health and safety polices and standards to achieve goal of zero fatalities and serious injuries. In this role, you will apply your health and safety knowledge to assist in the definition, development and deployment of standards for contractor safety. You will work with cross-functional teams to help ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards and drive continuous improvement of health and safety performance and results for employees and contractors.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the assessment, development and deployment of EHS requirements and strategies for diverse contractor groups (operations, maintenance, construction, contingent labor, capital/expense projects)
  • Partner with businesses and functions to accelerate integration of contractor safety management into existing contractor management work processes
  • Develop contractor safety capability across the business focusing on fundamentals of contractor safety management and building a risk-reduction culture
  • Utilize verification activities and metrics to effectively track, monitor and report contractor safety management progress and alignment to business and functional stakeholders
  • Provide technical, regulatory, support and training on health and safety risk management requirements and tools
  • Collaborate with regional EHS, operations, and functional leaders to ensure alignment, identify best practices and gaps, and propose solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managing contractor safety in capital/expense, operations, construction or maintenance activities
