You will support the Commissioning Fire Safety Lead in the day-to-day management and monitoring of fire safety, helping to bridge the gap between the Commissioning Programme and site-wide fire safety arrangements. - Contribute to the implementation and administration of fire risk management strategies, including emergency preparedness and fire safety audit and assurance processes.
- Champion fire and health & safety standards across the HPC project, ensuring alignment with the HPC Way pillars in all activities.
- Help communicate lessons learned, deliver toolbox talks, and share fire safety moments across the CommOps organisation.
- Collaborate as an effective and solutions-focused member of the CommOps health, safety, fire safety, and environmental team.
Who you are…
To excel in this role, you will need strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across EDF and the wider construction industry. A proactive mindset is essential, with a willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve fire safety practices within commissioning teams. Your fire safety expertise, particularly in conducting and documenting Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) within large project environments, will be key to ensuring compliance and safety. You should have a forward-thinking approach, identifying potential future fire risks and their implications while effectively engaging stakeholders on technical fire safety issues. Additionally, you will be skilled in sharing knowledge, developing others, and applying practical, solutions-focused thinking to technical challenges. Additional requirements for this role also include:
- Possesses a minimum Level 3 fire qualification, such as NEBOSH, FPA, ABBE, FireQual, or an equivalent certification.
- Experienced in conducting fire risk assessments across a variety of building types and industries, ensuring compliance and safety.

- Knowledgeable in UK fire safety legislation and industry standards, ensuring fire safety measures align with regulatory requirements.
- Familiar with fire detection, alarm systems, suppression systems, emergency lighting, evacuation plans, and fire prevention strategies, contributing to a robust fire safety framework.
