IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Commercial Auto Claims Specialist that can report to one of the following locations:
- Alpharetta, Georgia
- Scottsdale, Arizona
- Cheshire, Connecticut
- Naperville, Illinois
- Rolling Meadows, Illinois
- Raleigh, North Carolina
- Omaha, Nebraska
This role will handle moderate to complex Commercial Auto claims covering the entire United States. The Claims Specialist is responsible for investigating the extent of the company's liability and will be responsible for handling Commercial auto injury claims from inception until conclusion of the claim.
Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Handle moderate to complex Commercial auto injury claims based on Claim Guidelines
- Verify/analyze applicable coverage for the reported loss also including the drafting of correspondence, including but not limited to, coverage disclaimers, reservation of rights and liability denials as required.
- Investigate each claim by gathering information, conducting interviews, taking statements, conducting website research as needed, reviewing, and analyzing reports and related bills.
- Identify potential red flags and suspicious claims and refer to SIU
- Evaluate, negotiate, and authorize settlements with all stakeholders within designated authority.
- Select, direct and manage Vendors/Counsel including approval of defense budgets.
- Negotiate directly with claimants and claimant attorneys upon receipt of critical information.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- HS degree/GED with 5+ years of relevant claims experience
- Experience handling commercial auto claims
- Experience handling bodily injury claims
- Basic understanding of litigation process
- Have the appropriate claims license or the ability to attain
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to set priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Authorization to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposes
Preferred to Have:
- Associate/Bachelors degree
- Experience working in task-based claims system
- Knowledge of the Motor Carrier Coverage Form, Business Auto Form and Non-Trucking Coverage Form
- Knowledgeable in both state and federal jurisdictions

Compensation:
Please note, that the annual gross salary range associated with this posting is $58,810 – $92,920. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for this position. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role.
