As the Area Vice President of the Systems Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading a brand-new organization within Pure’s Systems Engineering team. This is a high-impact position requiring an exceptional leader with the vision, strategic mindset, and executional expertise to drive excellence and alignment with the broader Sales organization.

In this role, you will act as the principal advocate for SE leadership, a transformational leader for the CoE, and a thought leader in the industry. You will maintain a strong public presence, representing Pure’s culture and values, while building a best-in-class CoE that drives innovation, operational excellence, and talent development.

Your responsibilities include forging and nurturing critical relationships between the CoE and Core SE teams, providing strategic guidance to CoE SEs, and ensuring seamless integration with the broader Sales organization. You will drive key performance metrics, foster a high-performance culture, and champion initiatives that align with organizational growth objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Organizational Leadership and Vision

  • Build and execute the long-term strategy for the Systems Engineering CoE to align with the Sales organization’s objectives.
  • Design and implement a scalable organizational structure and operating model to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the CoE.
  • Foster a transparent, open, and collaborative leadership culture, ensuring alignment across teams and regions.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with Core SE teams, Partner organizations, and Sales leadership to ensure seamless integration and collaboration.
  • Work with Channel leaders to develop offerings with partners that scale Pure’s operating model.
  • Actively engage with cross-functional teams to improve processes, drive innovation, and enhance the customer experience.

Strategic Execution

  • Lead quarterly business reviews and course-correct based on key business indicators.
  • Manage a structured cadence of communications and meetings aligned with the Sales Field Management Process.
  • Drive fiscal planning, partnering with executive leadership to align CoE objectives with overall business goals.

Talent Development and Performance

  • Scale and lead a sustainable, high-performance global team with clear career development paths.
  • Inspire and develop talent, fostering an environment where employees thrive and excel.
  • Drive performance management practices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced studies in Strategic Planning, Organizational Development, or an MBA are a plus.
  • Proven Leadership Experience: Demonstrated success in rapidly advancing to senior leadership roles at a leading technology company, with a track record of building and leading high-performing pre-sales and/or post-sales organizations.
  • Technical and Strategic Acumen: Strong understanding of customer success practices, processes, and technology. Core competencies include leadership, customer relations, performance management, process management, data analysis, problem-solving, and business acumen.
  • Customer and Sales Focus: Experience leading teams to help customers adopt and realize the value of cutting-edge technology. Strong empathy for customer needs and Sales alignment.
  • Change Management Expertise: Experience leading organizational transformation and scaling teams in high-growth, global environments.
  • Passion for Learning: A continuous drive for personal and professional improvement, staying ahead of industry trends and best practices.

This is a rare opportunity to define and lead a brand-new CoE organization within Pure’s Systems Engineering team. Your work will have a lasting impact on Pure’s customers, partners, and internal teams while shaping the future of Systems Engineering at Pure.

 

The annual base salary range is: $228,900 – $366,800. 

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
