Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Credentialing Manager, this position is responsible for the following:

The Administrative Assistant II will assist with substantive review of applications for licensure, retrieve test scores from national testing entities, register applicants with national testing entities, issue licenses, close application files after each Board meeting.

The Administrative Assistant II will also write correspondence and respond to questions via thentia portal, respond by email, phone, and/or in person regarding the license and application process, assist other staff with credentialing and provide back-up for the front desk reception area by answering phone calls and processing incoming mail.

Job Duties:

• Answers questions from applicants (via phone, e-mail or in person) related to the licensing process

• Coordinates examination processes with the appropriate testing agency

• Reviews license applications for rule and statutory compliance

• Writes correspondence to applicants

• Other duties as related to the position

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge:

• Comprehensive knowledge of Board rules, statutes, open meeting laws, agency policies and procedures and credentialing processes

Skills:

• Computer application skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Google

• Working in a fast paced environment

• Organization and time management

• Oral and written communication

Ability:

• Prioritizing and analyzing duties to meet deadlines

• Critical thinking

• Multi-tasking

Selective Preference(s):

• Previous experience in a licensing environment preferred

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)

• Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment
