Subsidiary Rights
The Subsidiary Rights departments for our publishing divisions handles the licensing of any rights of the original book in both domestic and foreign markets: translations, magazine excerpts, audio editions, and book club inclusion are some examples. Subsidiary Rights is often referred to as a mix of marketing, publicity, and sales.
Some responsibilities may include finding additional sources of profit for a title, including serials, book clubs, and paperback, audio, and e-book rights and negotiating contracts with licensees to maximize revenue and publishing opportunities for the author and the company.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DETAILS
Penguin Random House offers a 10-week PAID, REMOTE internship opportunity available in our adult, children’s, and corporate divisions. Interns are exposed to the publishing process and our business through panels, networking events, and employee speaker series!
Summer interns work for 28 hours per week and are paid $21/hour.
What you study does not matter! We are looking for your desire to work with books, your drive to learn and your curiosity for the publishing industry.

REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY
- Must be ready to work full-time on or before June 2026 (You do not need to be enrolled in college or have a degree to apply to our internship program).
- Able to work 28 hours/week throughout the program
- Available and commit to the program working June 9, 2025 – August 18, 2025
- Must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship program
- Must be over the age of 18
